I contacted several moving companies leading up to my move from a one bedroom, to a two bedroom apartment in Toronto. This company offered the most extras, so far as services and had the cheapest quote. I scheduled them and all seemed fine.
On the day of the move they arrived an hour early and in a rickety, yellow truck, with graffiti on the side. They made me sign a contract that stated that stated that there may be extra charges involved with the move, depending on how long it took, etc. And that my stuff would not be delivered until the final amount was paid. I expected it to be more than a mere $160 and so I was even prepared to pay double the amount. However, once all of our stuff was prepared, I was presented with a "bill", written on the back of a piece of paper, of the final amount owing, which added up to $890 and included a 2 hour transportation fee, even though I was moving five minutes down the street and tonnes of hidden extra fees that were not mentioned to me before, nor were even addressed on the contract.
