This magazine sent me several issues out of the blue. They must have bought my name from a list somewhere. After 3 or 4 issues, I received a bill for $9.95 to pay for the unsolicited subscription. After a few weeks, I received another bill claiming I was late in payment and to pay urgently.
I finally called a number I found to be taken off of their list and when I asked how did I get on the list, was told: "Someone must have filled in a subscription card with your name on it." That is a line taken directly out of the "sales 101" book of "how did you get my name" and it is such a blatant lie, that it's hard to believe it is still in use. I wonder how many people have been sucked into paying $9.95 for a magazine that they never subscribed to.
What horrible tactics. I don't care what their politics are; I would never subscribe!
