I was charged a $300.00 "early termination" fee because my phones were ported out 7-8 days before the end of my contract. I have been undergoing chemotherapy and radiation for lung cancer, my cell phone bill for US Cellular was going to go up $10 p/month, we are on a fixed income and I was trying to save a few dollars as our expenses have gone thru the roof.
When I e-mailed US Cellular here was my first response:
Thank you for contacting our Online Customer Care department. Unfortunately, we did take a look at your account and saw that you called in on 9/25/07, we advised you that the contract was up on 10/11/07. You ported out your phones on the 10/4/07, so this was
before the contract was up so the $150.00 break fee was charged per line. Should you have additional questions or concerns, please contact our Customer Service department at 888-944-9400 or 611 from your mobile
phone. If you prefer, you may also submit your question/concern via our website.
And then the saga continues:
Well Anita, I took your advice, called the # below and spoke to a person named Quinn who put me on hold for some time, he came back once and said "I'm still looking at your acc't" please hold a little while longer" which I did, then a Holly picked up and knew nothing of my situation which I explained to her. She said there was no notation on my acc't, that she would notate it and have Quinn get back to me. That was over two or three hours ago.
I would like to get this resolved ASAP!
Soooooooooooo after that I did report them to the BBB which did absolutely no good and now the bill has been put into collections, I've agreed to pay $15 p/month til it's paid off and the collection agency, ER Solutions, Inc is calling on a daily basis (sometimes more than once p/day)!
By the way I was with US Cellular for four years before this incident but I guess they don't value relationships!?
