I placed a reservation for a truck through U-Haul's online service at "1 Stop Storage" for a Sunday. I was told they were closed weekends but that I could pick the truck up Friday for Sunday, and only be charged one day. Fool that I am, I neglected to get a written copy of the verbal agreement.
On reviewing my credit card bill, I see that I was charged for all three days (Friday through Sunday) even though I was promised otherwise and picked the truck up *at 4:00PM on Friday, at their closing time*."1 Stop Storage", of course, denies they ever said this.
I do not expect to get a refund, but I do want to let others know that "1 Stop Storage" has very deceptive practices.in addition, the condition of the truck I rented was very poor. This entire experience has convinced me to never use U-Haul again, even though I have been a faithful customer with every one of my past moves.
The primary reason I am posting this report is not that I got charged for three days (it was partly my fault for not getting a written agreement), but for being lied to my face (as it were) by the same staff person that originally said I would I only be charged for one day.
