Splash International lotto sent me a letter asking me to confirm/claim my winnings of 85,000 U.S. D, normally im smarter than this, but i had hoped i won, i could use it. When calling to confirm / claim my prize using the number provided, i never got through to anyone, and i tried every ten minutes. So as i had yet to get through to anyone i took it upon myself to cash the check that acompanied the letter discussing my winnings,
The bank took the check for 2500.00 dollars and informed me that they would have to hold it for 5 days until it cleared, so i thought to myself i really have won! Then i got back from the bank continued to try and call the number to claim my prize, and my friend said that he'd pulled up rip off report and saw the report left by someone else who had went through the same thing. Then of course it brought back the skepticism, which leads me to when i finally got through to someone from splash lotto, i used the number included in the report that i had read on this website, the man never gave a name but he did verify my letter with me and said that i had won the 85,000 dollar prize in the splash international free lotto,
I was excited, then he went over a name and city, and state of a person that i was suppose to send the 2500.00 to in order to pay the taxes so that i could be delivered my winnings, and that was that, i was a winner..., until i got a letter from my bank stating the genuine check i had recieved was in fact a counterfeit.
So now im back trying to get a hold of splash lotto to no avail. The one thing that bothers me most is why do organizations participate in this kind of fraud and how do i as well as others protect ourselves? This is my report, thanks
