Circuit City employees told me they couldn't match the price of a one day sale item at a local competitor's store. I needed to get it at Circuit City because of their proximity to my job. I had to work today (New Year's eve) and couldn't make it to the other store's location before closing. It was a 42" high def LCD TV by a major well-known and respected (highlyl-rated) manufacturer. I had checked and carefully read their exclusions before I went into the store last night to try to get a price match. Their was no bona fide reason why they shouldn't honor their guarantee on price. What was the reason they gave? The price was so low, they couldn't make a profit on the sale! Yes, it is true, Circuit City did NOT match a price because it was indeed a great price. Will I buy a TV at Circuit City now? Not too likely.
