I purchased a Simmons mattress from a local furniture in Powell, WY on 11-26-04 and was told that I would receive a full rebate from Cashback America in 35 months after purchase if I sent in all the requested info to Cashback America.
I called in Sept to see if the company was still at the listed address and a nice woman told me to get ready to send my documents in at 35 weeks in Nov. I sent in all my documents on November 3rd and a person named Ronald K Gooding signed the certified mail receipt on Nov. 8th.
It had been over 6 weeks and I had not heard a word from them. I got frustrated not hearing back from them and tried calling, but their phone number was always busy and their emails bombed. There was no way to reach them. I even tried faxing them. On Dec. 20th, I googled the internet for Ronald K Gooding's name and I found out that him and a man named Richard Stupple are perpetrators of a scam with the cash back vouchers in a civil suit filed by the Florida Attorney General's Office this month.
I feel like a victim and so does the store manager where I bought the mattress. I am very upset and feel bad for everybody scammed. I want my refund! Thank you!
