I re signed with Dish Network with the understanding that I would not enter into a 18 mths agreement. The technican came out and when he called customer service to activate the service, I told the representative that I did not want a contract. She stated that I would have to pay $49.99 that day for the receiver if I did not want a contract. I agreed and paid the $49.99. The
technican wrote in the contract, " customer spoke with customer service and cancelled 18 mths agreement."
I called recently to terminate service and was told by Jason in mgmt that I am automatically locked into a 18 mths contract because I am a former customer. He also stated that Dish did not have to adhere to the contract
because the technican did not have the authority to alter it. But, I know that the technican and the customer service representative are agents for Dish and I relied upon their authority. Also, I did not initial
the back page of the contract which is needed to indicate which option was selected.
I contacted the coporate/executive office by email to complain, but I have not received a reply to date.
