I went into the store to purchase accessories for bike. I then saw some boots I wanted. They were out of my size and offered to go ahead and put them on the next order they made with Harley. They acted like they would be there in a week or two.
I was leary, since I couldn't try on the size I needed. They said I didn't have to take them when they came in if they didn't work. Not so, as it turned out.in store credit only. Although I never recieved them, picked them up, even saw them!!! I went on a bike rally this weekend, and had to wear old cheapo boots since Harley ones weren't in yet.
In addition to this, I purchased several items in parts. ($300.00 or so) I didn't know which license plate cover to get (although only $10 or so each) and Mike told me to just bring back what my husband didn't want. He never mentioned the fact that you can't just bring it back... You have to take in store credit!
I have waited 3 weeks for the boots. I called this morning to cancel them, they said I had to have an in store credit! I told them that it was not mentioned when I purchased them... That there was only in store credit. They said, " It is on the receipt at the bottom" I said, well, shouldn't you have mentioned that fact when I was buying them and they weren't in stock??? They said sorry, but that is store policy. Then one lady said I could have my money back on my credit card, but would have to come in. Then about an hour later, someone else called back and said too bad, store credit.
I believe it is a rip off not to tell you the store only allows in store credit in special circumstances! They led me to believe I could bring back the license plate covers and the boots, No problem... Didn't mention only in store credit.
I must mention the fact they they say it is posted in the store, but I never saw it. I just believed what the told me verbally. I think I would defend the store, if I had actually purchased the boots off of the shelf and walked out and tried to return them. I never even saw them.
I contacted Harley about their dealership but they said each dealership is individually owned and they couldn't do anything about it.
