10 Year History of Fraud Everywhere

These freaking clowns have pulled so many scams on me its pathetic. I think its time the Department of Homeland Security, DOJ or someone takes over the company and executes the executives. My first experience, in Alabama I had a discount rate on cable. They raised the rate but gave me a discount for the difference. Problem is that the taxes went up by $0.25/month. They charged me taxes on money I didn't have to pay.

Those of you who've fought them know, I went through MAAAAAAny Customer service reps, most of who did not admit to having a supervisor before I finally found someone to stick a credit of $0.25 on my statement for the last however many months of my promotional rate. I know what idiot fights over $0.25/month. How many customers do they have though? They were probably overbilling millions of dollars a month because no one fights over a quarter.

Moved to TN, was Time Warner at the time but signed up first for cable at a discount. They over billed me. When I signed up for internet, they over billed me and charged for the free installation. I was actually told by a CSR rep and maybe a supervisor or two, that the free installation was only free if I did it myself... Wtf. I spent way too much time on the phone over these two issues. Time Warner was bought out by comcast.

Back to Alabama. Cancelled the service in TN and moved to AL. First statement from the closed TN account showed a credit of over $120 because we'd paid in advance for the month we cancelled. Signed up in AL, promo cable rate. Overbilled the very first month. Few months later, started a promo rate Internet service. OMFG, they over billed that too.

Their over billing is relatively easy to fix, it only takes about three weeks and fourty phone calls until you get that one Customer Service manager who doesn't own company stock and is raising kids and knows how crappy it is to get ripped off for an extra $20 a month or more. Of course, they end up billing two months at a time telling you they are billing for the month in advance. We'll see how that turns out.

Here's the problem, remember my $120 from paying in advance in TN? After about 4 months, I got a bill for about $30 from Comcast in TN. Flip it over, there's my $120 wiped out by a $150 "One time charge". I start making the calls. Explaining the issue to the CSR, well you're in AL now. Call this number.

Alabama says call Memphis, but they told me call you. Back to Memphis, well the $150 charge is because you didn't turn in equipment. BS we made them sign for it. Click. May I speak with a supervisor, you have to tell me first the problem. You tell it and it's Oh I can't help you there are no supervisors here, none availiable, they all go home at 5pm, they can't help you either.

About 1 out of 10 calls you get a supervisor. Some will tell you they can't access your account, some say you have to call the state your're in now. After about 6hours my calls started getting routed to Knoxville. I got a fairly decent guy who flat out was honest. HE told me he'd personally e-mail Memphis to help get my money back. I think he did as he called the next day, before he went to work to see if we'd heard back. We hadn't yet.

Next day we got a voicemail from Memphis, a woman, name escapes me but its in the BBB report, she'd taken care of the whole thing. She issued a $30 credit so now we didnt owe them anything.

Call back and get voicemail, I inquire about the $120 they owe me. No response. I file a BBB complaint against the national headquarters. Guess what? They got the BBB to bounce it back to AL then bounce to TN.

The resolution and the BBB closed the complaint immediately was that a check would be malied 9/4/07. Its 10 days later and no check.

I think they actually train the phone answerers to lie. They have monopolies in way too many municipalities. They either have really crappy phone service or untrained people. If you finally get someone to admit there is a supervisor 90% of the time the line goes dead during the transfer.

I guess since Comcast AL and Comcast TN are completely seperate companies, owned by the same company, WTF? I'll have to drive all the way to Memphis to collect $120 worth of cable.

Think I should also collect cable to compensate me for the time I spent on the phone trying to resolve their problems? I'd bet its a good 40 hours over ten years.
