Resorts Int'l Marketing
Complicite in timeshare scheme

After two years of expecting to rent one of our rental units purchased as a timeshare from Mayan Resorts in Mexico, I called both the 1-800 and the regular phone number at Resorts Intl's Marketing to inquire as to why we had not either been contacted or received a rental check.

The 1-800 number is a recording only, so even when you punch 1,2, 3 etc., you receive a dead-end recorded message. The regular number is answered by a secretary who puts you on hold for over 45 minutes and then the phone disconnects.

After reading the Rip-Off Revenge report filed by Debbie of High Point, North Carolina, I realized that had I not attempted to contact Resorts Int'l, they would have been content to keep the marketing fee and never perform the promised service. I intend to write a formal letter requesting a full refund of my service fee. And if not restitution is made, I will then file a formal complaint with the Attorney General of Florida, contact the Better Business Bureau of Pompano (although, I doubt RIM is a member) and request that they be removed from the list of possible choices supplied by Mayan Resorts.

We met people at the Resort who were receiving rental checks regularly, so we know there must be at least one reputable rental company out there. It is definitely a buyer-beware market.
