Lying, Cheating, Stealing & Other deceptive practices Ripoff Boca Raton Florida

Lucky me, I have been in VoIP hell for a while... I thought I had it bad with SunRocket when some of my calls did not complete. Then the company decided to go out of business. Like the other 200,000 customers of SR, I was left scrambling to find a new provider. Unfortunately for me, I did not check the BBB ratings on the companies I was even selecting, but was basing my choice on price and availability of service.

That unfortunate choice left me with voip.com as my provider. Since 7/25/07, I have had nothing but problems with the company - trying to reach them on the phone is a nightmare to begin with - sit on hold for 45 minutes each time, and then get hung up on/disconnected when I'm #2 in the queue. On the few occasions I have been able to get through to someone, I have not had any luck in having my issues resolved. The company shipped me out a defective GrandStream adapter (which Jay in the technical support department said he knew was a piece of s*t equipment)! Not only was the adapter defective - it caused my cable internet modem to lose its connection with the internet, and the only way I was able to get back online was to consistently unplug my modem, and plug it back in waiting for the damn unit to reboot.

I am willing to understand that a company that is getting a bunch of new customers so quickly needs to fulfill their orders using whatever they can, but if someone then says the problem is with an adapter, I would usually expect the company to replace said adapter. So Jay told me. However, when I called a week after I spoke to Jay and expecting a new adapter, to see what the status of the shipment was, I was told no adapter was being sent, and that I can certainly have someone call me back when they were able to tell me what to do. That was 2 1/2 weeks ago! I have yet to have someone call me back, but when I used the online ticket system, the "brilliant" folks in customer service told me to purchase a $5 switch at Radio Shack if I wanted to use my PC while on the phone. Of course, they didn't pay any attention to the original problem that it had nothing to do with me using my PC - I plugged the adapter into a router, which was powering the rest of my network anyway. I still cannot use the service, and they refuse to get back to me. Not only do they refuse to contact me, but since I still have an open ticket in their online system, I can't even cancel my service with them, which is causing my 30 day window to expire without having any alternative solutions to not being billed!

This company should be shut down, the owners locked up and any of their investors kicked in their behinds for even considering working with such thieves.
