I saw these signs for www.madisonsingles.org last year. I'd been widowed at the age of 46 in 2005 and was ready to start meeting people. I assumed it was a nonprofit organization with the.org suffix on their website so I filled out their questionaire online. Before I knew it I was in their office getting a sales pitch and signed up for the service. $1800 bucks I guess, with $200 down and payments over a period of time which were automatically withdrawn from my credit card.
Well, I met a lady outside of their network just after contracting with them and never made a date with any of their people.in fact I put the service on hold in writing and they have since sent me no contacts. I married the other lady just recently. My credit card is at it's limit and their collection agency is calling. Because I've taken no benefits from this company and they supposedly are "not for profit", I consider my payments made to "The Right One" to be contributions that should be tax deductible.
I won't pay another cent until they give me their tax ID# so I can deduct it from my income.
