Class Action Lawsuit

On June 8th a class action lawsuit was filed in Los Angeles Superior Court, case#BC372247 against NetworkOmni for failure to pay wages to its interpreters. The lawsuit was filed in an attempt to collect the months of wages owed to hundreds of interpreters.

A blog has been established for anyone who needs information about what is happening with the lawsuit and also for anyone wishing to post a comment:

NetworkOmni is the 2nd largest OPI interpreting company in the country and they have contracts with state agencies to provide interpreting services. Omni has been granted multi million dollar contracts to provide various states interpreting services but refuse to pay in a timely manner.

We who have been affected are asking any agency or any government agency to help us in our efforts to be treated fairly.

Those wishing to join the lawsuit should contact Biddle & Associates 213-629-8720, FYI the law firm representing NetworkOmni is the same firm representing them in their lawsuit against the author Nataly Kelly, they are Winston & Strawn 213-615-1700.

Networkomni has blocked publication of a book and are also being sued by several other people for a variety of reasons, including sexual harresment. This is also the company that thought it was amusing to have their HR person Janice Parvin dress up as a Black Face Pimp at their Halloween Party. This Parvin person happens to be an elected councilperson in California as well as the head of Human Resources she is also white.

The ramifications of not being paid in a timely manner has caused many families to suffer and the stories will make one wonder how can this happen in the United States and how is it that nobody cares. I know we who are living it do care but we are feeling abandoned especially by the very clients who have received our services have paid Networkomni for them and yet we are still waiting for our money.

The urgency of the situation cannot be properly conveyed by mere words since words cannot express the fear, panic, anger and sheer rage that we all wake up to each day. We gave NetworkOmni and its' clients our very best and all we expected in return was to be paid as agreed and we are being shunted aside. We deserve better and so do the clients.
