This company tries everything they can do DENY service. I called them to repair a leaking water heater. They sent out one of their plumbers who said that the venting on the water heater was 'not to code" and AHS denied the repair. I complained endlessly and they fiinally agreed to send out a 2nd plumber to validate. The 2nd plumber was on the phone with them when he was out at my house and I hear AHS telling him to say the vents are not to code. He said they were fine and eventually after endless hours of my time on the phone arguing with them - they paid for the water heater.
1 year later, I call them for my leaking toilet (likely 40 years old). How can they deny a toilet you'd think? The plumber said that the pipe was 'painted' and that AHS was denying coverage. I called my own 2nd plumber who said that there was no issue with painting but that it was a big job to fix - which is why AHS was probably denying it.
Google AHS and you will hear from many, many others that their tactic is to deny any larger repairs which get above the $50 service call.
