I had applied for a Grant through Hampton Resources when my elderly Aunt had told me it was a good idea. She had given me the name and number of Hampton Resources because she had been researching grants and had spoken with a gentleman by the name of Sean Stenza.
I was hoping to be able to get a small grant to fix up an older home that my disabled Uncle lives in. Mr. Stenza was more than happy to assist me and I allowed him to take $349.00 from my checking account. I was told that I would receive paperwork in the mail within 6 weeks to complete and return to their company so they could review to determine which grants I would be eligible for.
I did receive the paperwork and sent back to the company on January 9. I was to receive a response within 6 months. The 6 months are up and I phoned Hampton Resources, they now have a french voicemail that states the number is no longer in service.
I would love to get my money back but I have a feeling that is not going to happen. I have learned a huge lesson and will never apply for anything unless I fully research the company. This is extremely upsetting and I feel like a fool but there isn't much else I can do but report it here and hope that others will not make the same mistake that I have.
