I sent my picture and resume to a company, that was advertising on another website, that they were looking flor actors, and actresses for their upcomong film they were doing. I got a response, telling me that I seemed to fit one of the parts, and would I provide my phone number, in order to speak with one of the Producers. I did, and soon after, I received a phone call from a gentleman named John Wesley. He told me of the frilm, and also told me of other fiolms he had coming up as well.
Naturally, to an aspiring actor, that is music to our ears! He told me that someone from his office would contact me in about a day or soi, to get my address to send me a script. I said okay, and left it at that. About three days later, I received a phone call, asking me for my address. I gave it, and true to her word, I received a movie script in the mail, asking to read it over, and if I liked the part they had specified for me, contact Mr. Wesley. I did just that.
One week later, I had a plane ticket in my name, waiting at the airport. So far so good. I went to North Carolina, acted in what I thought was a legitimate movie, came home after my scenes were done. I was out there from April, 2-July6. They paid for my lodging, everything I would expect on a film shoot.
Well I went to the bank, tried to open a new checking account with the check I was given, and two days after I did that, my bank was telling me that the chek was counterfeit, and they were not going to be able to release funds to me. So now, here I sit, pennyless, and wondering what in the world happened. I never thought to look up any company, but I wish I had.
I got scammed big time, I dont even know now if there was even film in the cameras they were using. I can say, everything was run like any other film set I had been on in the past, but the check I was jpaid with, was not a real check.
