AFNI contacted me in June regarding an old phone bill from Verizon in 2002. The phone was discharged in Federal Bankruptcy Court in August. I disputed the debt in writing in June but AFNI reported it as a valid debt to Equifax, Experion, and Tranunion. AFNI is now harrassing me by phone and mail.
I have now filed complaints with the FTC and Commonwealth of Virginia Attorney General's Office.
Unfortunately because AFNI is in Illinois, I am unsure if I should file legal action them. It's a long way from Virginia.
I have worked hard to keep my credit clean since Bankruptcy, I wish I could get the entry removed completely. It should not even be there.
