I am trying to buy a house, when the mortgage co. Pulled my credit report their was a collection account from Cavalry Portfolio listing Cingular. I never had a phone with Cingular. I tried to call A.T. T now because they are now Cingular and they asked for my social and name. The account isnt in my name. It is in an exboyfriends name. We lived together at one point and I guess somehow Cingular or Cavalry believes that somehow that makes me responsible. Time is short. I want to buy this house. I dont know what to do. I can't really afford to just pay it. Which is what the Cavalry rep told me. She wouldnt give me any information on the account because its not in my name yet it is on my credit report. I dont know what to do.
