I received an automated phone call, asking me to call 907-770-8196. After doing a reverse lookup online & not finding out who the # belonged to, I decided to call it anyway. The male voice at the other end said it was a bill from the local hospital. He did not identify himself. I said I could pay them $50 right now, but would like to have the Account #, so that I could check on it at the hospital. He said that is fine with him.
I got my checkbook & was writing the acct # down on the check, when I mentioned that CC is listed on usacomplaints.com. He instantly told me that he will not accept the check & will require the full amount by the 6th of July! When I asked why, he said "It doesn't matter, I won't accept this payment or anything else, except the total balance." Then he hung up.
I just looked thru this month's mail & do not see anything from them pertaining to the bill he called on.
I called their other phone # that I had & said I'd like to make a payment. The male voice was different & polite. He asked my name, which I gave, & he asked me to hold on for a moment.
The next voice I heard was the previous one, which was loaded with irritation & said he would not accept any payments from me, other than the full balance. I again asked why & he said it doesn't matter, that's the only one he'd accept. I asked his name, which he gave to me this time. I mentioned that I don't even have a bill from them for this account. He replied that it doesn't matter because I knew about it since I'd paid on it back in November and now he wants full payment. Then he hung up.
