Dear Consumers,
If you are looking for new glasses, do not be taken by the BUY-ONE get one free scams advertised by Eyeglass World. A few weeks ago, I walked into the stately Eyeglass World located on Grand Avenue Chicago. I was quoted a price of 2 pairs of glasses for 60.
I went back in and ordered my frames, thinking I had gotten a good deal. Little did I know that the next time I would go in, the manager said I could not have the glasses for that price, it would be 80 or more. I decided I wanted a refund since I would have to choose a pair of frames that I did not want to fit the price - but to my shock - there was going to be no REFUND.
They had not informed me in advance of the no refund policy. I asked to speak with the manager, but I was not allowed to do so. Also, when I had taken the eye exam - the optometrist said I needed a higher presciption when I knew I did not. Finally, not wanting to lose my money, I decided to take the frames - which were not ready until at least 2 weeks later.
Upon wearing the frames, I felt as though they were too strong, as though I could not see properly out of them. When I went back in to the store, I asked again if I could see the manager to get my money back. Again I was told it was not possible to do so.
Angry, I marched up the stairs to see the manager, with all the other employees consistently rude, and threatening to call the police - which they ended up doing - to get me out of their store. Perhaps I would do that too, if I were guilty of selling cheap quality frames, with wrong prescriptions to innocent people, ripping them off to make money. THIS HAS BEEN Far by the worst experience I have ever encountered with any organization!!!
