Where do I begin, first off let me tell you that unfortunately usacomplaints.com wants to protect the anonymity of there plaintiff's therefore they will not allow you to include your full name or identity.
However I want to be clear about my shrouded identity on this report and would like nothing more than to be face to face with him so that I may "speak" to him about how he not only disrespected me time and time again but also stole from me and we'll just leave it at that. Its not as if he would ever man up to someone any way after all he and this company were engineered to hide behind anything they can in order to not be held accountable for any actions.
You've all read the other reports on them regarding late fee's for paperwork and clocking in, I have experienced such as well and don't feel the need to elaborate.
You've all heard about how they mask themselves as corporate stores in order to lull the customer into a false sense of security. Hell why do you think when you see there stores it says... Verizon Wireless.in huge letter's but they seemed to have needed to used so little space for the title, authorized agent Cellular Sales. They must have been running low on the neon budget.
They told me to assure the customer in any way possible that we were corporate with out ever actually saying that, due to corporate Verizon being on to this but not being able to prove it.
They made us wear dress slacks, shirts and ties so that we mirrored the corporate store image. We even had to carry around banks on us so we could make change at the stores, we wouldn't want the customers to think we didn't have change available, even though it wasn't supplied to us.
If we were missing any documents including credit card receipts, and binding legal service agreements we were fined. God forbid you lose all of someones personal information because you were made to carry it around for a whole month along with there check or cash for there purchase. Boy would an identity thief love to get his hands on that action.
My favorite was how certain people got certain schedules do to the fact that they were inserting tab A into slot B with Don White whenever he'd come down to Asheville. I always thought that appropriate. Oh and this was going on between 2000 and 2003 if anyone out there reading this was dating him at that time I'm sure they'd appreciate me saying this. Well just say she was blonde and her name started with a T, oh and she'd been with the company a real long time although she never seemed to do much at work.
Although we were " independent contractors" were mandated and threatened with either termination or fines for all of these things
-dress code
-being on time for shifts
-using our time off to attend "hitler, nazi youth rallies", they referred to them as sales meetings and seminars, in actuallity they were nothing more than pep rallies, except I drew no wood by looking at cheerleaders, only the thoughts of travelling back in time to punch Don White's mom in the baby maker just prior to his birth gave me such satisfaction. Oh many of these meetings were in Greensboro.
-opening and closing shift inventory was done so that we could be charged if any items were missing or stolen or just not returned properly, we all knew that if some kid stole something, you better chase his monkey *&* down or it was coming out of your pay, some of us did that, you know who you are
This all leads me to my favorite part of the story, Don White, oh you.
On repeated occasions fellow employee's, oh I meant to say "independent contracters" were cussed at, threatened, and on several occasions, mostly females left there shifts crying due to his demeanor as well as his insults. I believe he began not liking me when I told him, after being cussed at to never speak to me like that again, obviously I wasnt that nice about it. Don White you see has what I like to refer to as "baby penis syndrome". You see he hates his life, mostly due to the fact that if he whipped out his manhood in front of any unfortunate female, including ones he was paying for sex excluded ones on his payroll, well they would simply reply, " No thanks, I don't smoke". He treated all his employees with such disdain including myself, although I think he knew that I had no problems with challenging him physically, although lets be honest so would anyone including the midget from fantasy island so he resorted for not so confrontational ways of getting me not to work for them anymore.
I remember on several occasions he would drop hints to not only myself but other employees that we needed to dress better, purchchase better dress clothes. I wont go into to much more detail on that. However one night after working a shift at the lovely Biltmore Square mall in Asheville he telephoned me at 11:30pm thats right 11:30pm. His reason for calling was to inform me that one of his members of management, ie. Someone that kisses his ass alot, stopped by that location and saw that I was not manning my kiosk, while this seems a bit unprofessional on my part. Please understand that these were eight hour shifts in kiosks where we were not expected to leave to eat nor use the restroom. I must have missed Don's training seminar on how to hold your urine, I guess all those years of him being a gimp in Dane's dungeon of darkness and domination paid off for him. So he tell's me that he doesnt think we need to work together anymore. That was how he let someone go, no termination papers, no unemployment, just turn in your keys and paperwork or we'll hold your money.
Of course I had to go along I mean hell they dont pay you for 60 days when you start so I had used my savings then, I couldnt fight them like that financially. I obliged and went my own way.
I opened a business up in Columbia, South Carolina a month later and phoned Scott to ask where my check was. His reply was that they were holding it for 60 days to make sure I had no chargebacks, bear in mind were talking about approximately $2500.00. Luckily I was doing just fine financially in my new undertaking. I remember thinking " my money's going to fund Don's penis enlargement surgery". Well needless to say that check turned up after the waiting period and guess what, it was short. To the tune of of $2000.00 short. Luckily by that point in my life I was passed all this *&* and wiping my *&* with that type of money so I just let it go.
My advice is the same as all the other folks on here don't work for them and if you do keep at least enough equipment to auction off on ebay to cover your money they steal. My advice to Don White, one day, one sweet day you will feel the sweet sting of retribution and no it wont be Dane Gizzum's electro shock *&* paddle you love so much it will be in the form of an IRS agent fisting you with a subpoena, damned would I love to smack a *&*&.
