Yes, I made the mistake of not checking them out!
When one needs a moving company, the Yellow Pages seems an obvious place to look, and I merely required a licensed and insured company for a simple move of a few miles. Of course, as the move developed the problems and charges mounted to a comical degree, and it was especially hilarious to hear the company stooges repeat over the phone to me lines which were obviously well-rehearsed and I knew must have been repeated to hundreds or thousands of people who had previously made the mistake of hiring "All My Sons".
A simple internet search will show that "All My Sons" has been engaging in these activities for years right across the United States and all of their depots are run by a different family member. (Internet search tip:- Spero and All My Sons moving). Still, as I recognised immediately that they must behave this way every day with customers in every State, the possibility of a Class Action lawsuit formed in my mind and it also seemed that their 'business model' might be open to charges under the RICO Act.
While it is true that almost anything goes here in Florida and business ethics in the Sunshine State are more akin to those of the old 'Wild West', the RICO Statutes and Class Action lawsuits are one possible way to make life a little better for everyone.
