I met with the Bernard Haldane folks today after meeting them at a job fair. At first I was impressed wit what Jerry had to say and it maid sense. I asked questions during the interview, specifically "how do you make your money" and the response was 91% of the time we have the employer pay the fee. OK sounds good. Asks about whether or not my credit cards were maxed? None of your business... Said my resume was completely wrong although just done by DBM, whom my old employer contracted for outplacement service. We then get to the point about bringing the wife in. He say "because she knows you the best" Good comeback.
I say I'm on the net searching for a job, he says waste of time we have thousands of unfilled positions and contacts. Ok still sounds kosher but I've heard a sales pitch or two in the past and too many red flags go off in my head. The last thing he says to me is "Stay off the internet until we meet Tuesday, give yourself a break" Well it is a long drive home and by the I get here I think somethings fishy. So I look up BH on the net and find this site!
I dont think I would have been taken because I was once told NEVER PAY FOR A JOB! Especially now that I am laid off.
It was great finding this site because it confirmed my suspicions. The New York Times did a piece in Jan 02 and it continues. Keep up the good work!
