Buddy's Home Furnishings
This company purposely ripped me off after I'd just had my baby and I was a GOOD & LOYAL customer

I'm a college student who'd just moved from a furnished apartment to an unfurnished one so getting furniture was a neccessity for me. On November 10, a day after moving into my new place, I rented a bedroom set from Buddy's Home Furnishings located on South Monroe Street in Tallahassee Florida. Everything was "great".

I was being a loyal customer by making all my payments on time and my second payment wasnt due until January and from then I still continued to pay my bill. If I was late on my payment, I'd rush to pay any pass due amount without a problem because I fully understood my responsibility as the renter of their merchandise.

I was on the six months rent to own plan and in March I found out that sales person who'd rented the bedroom set out to me didnt work there any more. After finding this out, in that same conversation I was scorned by a rude salesman who didnt want to understand that I was 8 months pregnant and was not feeling well enough to pay my bill which would BE due in about two days (during that time).

I also want to mention that after renting my bedroom set in November I'd just received my customer benefits book at the end of March when I was paying for benefits since Nov. Why? As the manager unprofessionally says "it isnt on our part to give you the book, it's another company's responsibility". Hold on Im lost, if the customer benefits book is given to customers through Buddy's then why are they childishly pointing their finger at the another company.

In April the month that I would be able to own my furniture, after calling and speaking to the manager he'd told me that I only owed about $210 on my account and I could tell that he didnt want to give me that information. On April 4, I'd given birth to my son so I had to leave Tallahassee and go back to my hometown which was about 70 miles from Tallahassee down on the coast.

Being afraid that I would not / could not make it back in town on time to pay off the rest of my remaining balance, I spoke with a sales women and told her that I'll have my aunt to come in to pay my bill but she would need to tell my aunt exactly what I'd owed on my account. I told the sales lady that I'd just had a baby (which was evident because he was crying in the background) and I couldnt make it up there. I was thinking that if anyone understood my situation she would.

Reminder, $210 would get me this entire set. When my aunt paid the bill for me, she was only told to pay $128 which was the amount that have me continuing to rent this bedroom set. There was no mention of the $210 at all, even though this sales lady knew that I'd asked her to tell my aunt the exact price that would have paid the entire balance in full. When I later asked about this, the lady said "We are not allow to give out all that information on your account, mam. You should have told your aunt what she needed to pay. Mam, you cant blame us for something that you didnt do".

Okay, If they couldnt tell my aunt nothing about my account, then why would they tell her to pay $128 on an account that was especially set up for 6 months rent to own? Shouldnt that sales lady had informed my aunt to pay off the entire account since that was the main purpose of me renting the furniture, rent-to-own?
