I am writing on behalf of my Aunt, client above, who has lived in My House Your Home Assisted Living Facility since approximately 20 November after being advised by her Doctor at Charlestown Center Rehab after a fall, she could no longer be able to live alone because of her instability, she sometimes has passed out or is very unsteady on her feet. This place was recommended by the Social Worker at the Center, and the proprietor is Ms Jennifer Hubbard, who initially told me she was a Nurse, after checking the State Nursing Registry, she has a 90 day Temporary CNA certificate.
My Aunt, her Daughter, Delores Jackson and her friend plus myself went to see this place, it was on a very short notice, and my Aunt seemed to like Ms Hubbard, whom she had met while at Charlestown, so we agreed to moving and the terms of her contract, which included a Nursing Assessment fee of $65.00 bi-weekly, but my Aunt did not have that kind of income so I started paying it for her. My Aunt also informed me she had to go to Caring Hands, Adult Medical Day Care of Dundalk 7 days a week, getting up at 5:00 A.M., and going from 7:00 a. M getting home around 4:00/4:30 P.M., even if she is ill. The only time she does not have to go if she tells the aid she is too ill, then they call 911 to have her taken to a hospital, now that is ridiculous. I asked Ms Hubbard why she had to go even if sick, I was told no one is at the house from 7:00 A.M. Until 3:00 P.M. Daily, and she cannot stay by herself, also she stated my Aunt doesn't realize she is a patient. I resent that remark, she is a tenant not a patient, also there should be a back-up person if the other assistant can't be there, my Aunt has rights. I asked Ms Hubbard for her license and the RN that does the assessment also, or their tax ID, Ms Hubbard got very upset, wanted to know why I wanted this information. I told her for my taxes, she told me to file these fees under my Aunts SSN, but my Aunt doesn't file taxes, and I am not paying her. After this I received a text stating my Aunts contract would be terminated on 7 April I asked what ground my Aunt was being terminated, and I want reputable documentation why my Aunt is being termed. My Aunt informed me Ms Hubbard said I asked too many questions.
My Aunt uses a walker, and there is no ramp at this home, there is one lady who is blind, also cannot talk, my Aunt informed me they have her sleeping in the basement. I feel this place needs an inspection, and if they are using the ED like a clinic or temp day care that is a waste.
