Where can I begin? I started service with zingotel in April. I joined them as they were only $14.95 a month for unlimited minutes. I signed up under the terms that the total fee was $14.95 each month with no contract and no cancellation fees provided you return the phone modem within 30 days. The phone worked ok but had frequent disconnects. I figured for the price it was ok.
Within 3 months my fee went up to $16.85. Soon after it was raised to $18.20. As of February my phone modem would no longer work and they were not willing to help. They would not send me a new modem so I asked them what I had to do to cancel service. They said to return the modem to their address and that would be the end of it with no further fees.
I sent it back priority mail in the middle of February with a tracking number. They then charged me a cancellation fee in the beginning of March for $40.00. This is clearly against the terms I signed up under at the time. They have since changed terms but I did not sign or agree to them.
I am especially upset since they told me there would be no further fees when I ended service. Now they will no longer answer my emails. The bottom line is this phone company is a scam. They bait you in on a low price then contiuosly raise it. The last month they overcharged me $5. They no longer answer their phone and will not call you back if you leave a message. They are apparantly doing this to many people. Just type in zingotel scam into google and you will see what I mean.
