I have been shopping at JCpenney Outlet store as long as I can remember. Most of the items in my house, were purchased from JcPenney. For the last several months, I have been treated in a manner that I no longer feel comforter shopping there.
It started in November when I went to return a couch. I paid 569.00 for the couch and then found the same one at the store marked down to a lower price. I purchased the lower priced couch and went to service desk and asked if I could just get a credit for the difference. The lady told me no. No big deal. I have a truck and live 10 minutes away.
I picked up and delivered the cheaper priced couch home and returned the one for 569. This is when the problems started. A lady by the name of Jennifer refused to return my couch. She stated that this couch was not 569 and it was only 399. The price tag was on the couch and my receipt said 569. I was mad. I told her that that couch and all the matching pieces are always priced 569.
I started to pull out other receipts for the matching pieces that I also bought there for 569.2 matching loveseats and a chaise lounge. My recipts showed that I had paid 569 each for those items as well. My sister also owns the complete set where she paid the 569 per item. She was still arguing with me stating that I did not pay that much for that couch depite the receipt in her hand. I had her get the manager.
He said the problem was that the maunfacturer tag was missing off the bottom of the couch. He said that they never sell furniture with the manufacturer tag missing. (for anyone that has ever shopped at JcPenney outlet store you know that alot of the items are damaged, ripped, torn, or missing pieces.) I told him that they sold it to me like that, there is no reason that I would of taken it off. He did agree with me that those pieces of furniture are always 569.00. He finally agreed to refund the price of the couch.
Since then, I have tried to return several more items and usually the Jennifer girl is there and she refuses to return my items. I bought a comforter, sold it on ebay and my customer sent the item back to me because it was ripped. I tired to return it with the receipt because it was ripped and they refused. It is to the point that I no longer return any items to the store. If I need to return something, I will send my sister and they return it with no problem.
I had a relative with the same last name as mine try to return something. When they looked at her id and saw that it was the same last name as mine, they asked if she was related to meand then refused to return her item
I have a receipt from last month where I spent $2400.00 in one day on items at JcPenney Outlet. There are months that I have spent $1700.00 that month just at the outlet store. I spend money there.
In December, the manager of JcPenney had my JcPenney credit card frozen. I had a credit balance of 338.00 on it. I called the company and told them to just cancel it. (I have a 752 beacon score and no big deal if I don't have that Jcpenney card) I told them to cancel it and send me my refund. The lady was really rude to me and said that I may not get it back. They were investing my account. After two months, and there "investigation" the money was refunded to me.
This is very upsetting to me. I have a BS from OSU. I teach high school special needs. I follow the law, I hold aprofessional license. I am not a criminal. Have no conviction except minor traffic. I feel like they are making me out to be something that I am not
