One of the agents for MBF Leasing in Salt Lake City was Capitol Merchant Services which has gone out of business... I'm sure partly due to MBF Leasing problems. They contacted me to have me use their VISA merchant account system. I wouldn't have done it except they said that they have an in house website development company that can finish my complex website and then host the site. When the deal came together they quoted me $109.00 per month for all of the visa equipment, web development, web hosting and the VISA transaction charging. I figured it would work out great. It turns out that Capitol Merchant Services in Salt Lake City was about to go under and signed me up through an MBF Leasing contract which was to be paid by debiting my checking account.
To make a short story long... I never got any web development done, no hosting, and The MBF Leasing has been finding every way possible to drain everything out of my account that they can. I just got a letter today saying that they are going to be taking over $50.00 out of my account to pay the property taxes on the equipment they are leasing to me. The equipment is only worth $300.00-400.00 total. I have paid over $2000.00 in the last 18 months to them for this cheap equipment and they now want to charge me even more. They say that $25.00 of this is a fee for filing the "property taxes".
This is it for me. I am ready to shut them off and let this go to court and see them explain this garbage to a judge. I can handle my own property tax filing, thank you very much! Their contract allows them to charge fees but doesn't say how much for the "filing fees". It seems that this contract is so open ended that they will stop at nothing to find ways to clean out my checking account. I just filed a complaint with the FTC and have talked to my attorney regarding the matter. I am ready for them. This contract is a scam. Hopefully more people complain and expose this company for what they really are.
