Rebate Rip-Off

I bought a Cricket Wireless phone on September 29. The advertised deal was that if my service remained activated for 45-days, I would receive a rebate of $30.00. I sent the rebate form in the same day I purchased the phone. The rebate form shows to be received on the Cricket "Rebate Status" page of their website. On November 15, my service had been activated for 45 days. At the end of December, I wrote Cricket customer service and asked them where my rebate check was. They told me I had to have my service activated for 90-days. However, the rebate form stated 45-days. Oops, deceptive trade practices. As of January 27, their "rebate status" page still states that my rebate is "waiting for required service period." Cricket customer service blows me off, albeit very politely, and tells me that I need to contact the rebate company; who leaves you on hold for 30-minutes. We are 120-days. I do not expect to receive the rebate and consider it lost money. However, I have filed a complaint with the Texas Attorney General's office for deceptive trade practices. As for all the complaints I see on the Internet regarding Cricket Wireless rebates, they had better be careful. Somebody with tenacity is going to take this issue to the courts and make sure they stop doing this to people. I am cancelling my service at the end of the month and I am taking my business elsewhere. This kind of behavior will catch up with them. I have no doubt about that.
