Complaint / Review
Level Propane
Bankrupt with $5 mill.in prepayments

When i signed up for the budget plan with level, i was told that i would pay $138 a month between november and may. And if i had any overpayement come june, then i could request for reimbursement or carry it over until the next heating season.

Well june 4 rolls around and i get a bill for $121. So i call level to find out what this payment was for, because it showed i already overpaid them $343. So, there guy in billing tells me that they automatically rolled over my budget plan and figured out the new payement. He said that this would be my payment each month from june to april. I said... I don't think so! I told him that doesn't add up, because i would only be paying $10 less but for a much longer period of time! He agreed, and was so gracious as to remove me from the budget plan.

I then brought up the $343 that i wanted back from last years overpayment. I told him that i would like reimbursed. He said that he couldn't because they filed chapter 11. I laughed! (but he wasn't)

I then asked him why level hasn't informed their customers (especially the pre-pay and budget plan customers), and he said it was just recently.

I then (being a smart-ass) said..."so you're telling me you are collecting money that you can't give back, and may not be able to supply gas?" his reply, "well, it's in the banks hands now"
my reply... Seems ironic how the budget plans were "automatically" rolled over and for a longer period of time!

After that pleasant phone conversation, i then went to their website www.level.com, to see if the guy was right. There was not one mention about filing bankruptcy!

So, then i went to every search engine and found a brief article about it. It stated the level has an estimated $5 million in pre-payments that customers may not get refunded. I also found out that they filed june 14. Seems ironic that it was 10 days after the prepayments were automatically "rolled over".

If your like me... Good luck getting your money back!
