Qwest T-Netix - Correctional Billing Services
Qwest, T-Netix, Correctional Billing Services My bill is paid and Qwest, T - Netix Correctional Billing Services will not un-block my line!

I have been receiving collect calls from my loved one, who is incarcerated, for about 5 months. There have been a few problems, ie; dropped calls, blocked lines for NO reason, busy signals... And so on. This last bout, however, is sending me over the edge! These calls are through Correctional Billing Services who is a subsidiary of Qwest/T-Netix. My bill is from T-Netix. There are 3 toll free numbers on my bill.

When I call, I wait on hold for a minimum of 15 minutes.
There are 2 ways they are billing me. I was not told this until my phone was blocked and I called to find out why. I was told that I have $100. Credit so when I reach my limit I must pay or be blocked. O.K. But there is also a 30 day billing period and ANY balance must be paid by a certain date. Fine, but I was never told this. So, my $55.34 bill was 'due' on Dec. 20. It was under $100. So I thought I was O.K. My phone was blocked on December 22 and I called, found out why, paid $70.00 immediately. I was told it would be 24 to 72 hours before it was un-blocked. The money was removed from my account on Dec. 25 and "posted" on my Correctional Billing account on Dec. 26th. I have called every day since Dec. 26th and cannot get an honest answer from anyone. They say my account is in good standing and my "line is clear". NO IT'S NOT! Today is Jan. 2. No one will help me. I have even spoken to supervisors.

My loved one tries a minimum of 10 times per day to get through to no avail. The thing that bothers me the most is that there is no choice. Everyone has to use this company. Isn't that why there are monopoly laws? Is there no recourse for this company?
