Ripoff refuses to follow FTC Rules on how to deal with Credit Reports that have Fraud Alerts

I have a fraud alert on my credit report, because I am victim of fraud. I also signed up for a service called "Debix Lock", which is a program approved by the FTC (Federal Trade Commission), that puts a "lock" on your credit report. It removes your personal phone number from your reports, and when a report is pulled for credit they are presented with the fraud alert notifying them that they must call this "phone number" in order to validate that the subscriber actually requested the credit to be pulled.

When they call that number, they are presented with a automated secure voice system where they leave information regarding about who they are, etc. They are then put on hold, and a call is placed to my cell phone, where a message that I recorded is played back to me, there message is also played to me, and then I am prompted to enter my personal PIN number that I assigned when I opened the account, and then approve or deny the opening of an account in my name, by pressing the appropriate keys on my phone.

Cox refuses to follow these standards as mandated by FACTA and FTC.in fact the FTC is currently monitoring companies that do not follow the rules for compliance with these rules.

I have been fighting with Cox for nearly 2 weeks, and they are to inept to understand how the system works, and want me to pay a deposit all because they refuse to follow FTC rules on how to deal with account that have fraud alerts on them.

In fact I was talking to a agent, his name is Mike - Agent #5713, his words were "We don't care about the FTC Rules, we have our own" I was astonished at their boldness of this statement.

I have also reported them to the FTC for compliance failure, hopefully they get enough of these and maybe get a hefty fine or something... Whatever it is something has to be done about the company to make them understand that they can not make up the rules themselves and not follow FTC standards when it comes to credit reports that have fraud alerts placed on them.
