I attended the training class in Mira Loma, CA to train for my CDL. The school is very unorganized and they waste a lot of time in the classroom that should be spent on something useful.
Then you get out to the yard. What a joke. Two weeks or more in a heat wave of 115 degrees. They would not allow chairs, they did not provide any water. Some of the trucks had no AC. It was usually a class of 15 with one instructor. I would get to practice ally dock or paralel parking about two times in a day. It was the worst experience I have had in the working world.
Next I flew to SLC to meet my fiance who would train me. He moved over to England as he could train me and we would work as a team. We made the mistake of entering a lease for six months. Believe me I have been in Sales for many years and they really fooled me. On paper it really appeared that we could make money.
Now you could make money IF you didn't wait 1 to 2 days between loads. IF there were not 12 people ahead of you at the yard waiting for an empty trailor. IF you didn't wait 4 to 12 hours or more to be unloaded. IF they actually had drop and hook like they tell you they do. IF they didn't give you 300 mile trips and then make you wait a day or two for another load. IF they didn't schedule loads that don't fit into their trailers. IF you didn't spend so much time arguing with your DM who doesn't solve problems only causes them. IF you didn't spend hours on the phone to SLC trying to solve problems. Believe me no one at SLC cares about your problems. Payroll, leasing dept, DM's are all a joke that no other company would tolerate.
This paragraph is to the Englands who are at the head of this terrible mess that they call a company. You should be ashamed of yourself taking advantage of so many innocent people. Good people who come to your company to make a good living. You should just hold a gun to their head when they come looking for a job and steal their money it is the same thing. You are no better than the criminals that fill our prison system. You STEAL from and take ADVANTAGE of innocent people. You have been taken to court several times and continue to rip people off. I would say that you will answer to God but you will be in h*l for the wrong you have done for so long.
PLEASE anyone who is considering employment or leasing with this company&DONT DO IT - I wish someone had warned us before we got into this financial mess with these greedy people. Believe me the $600. Weekly lease payment is the least of the worries. It costs about $1700-$1900 per week total just to run that truck, you pay for EVERYTHING. Fuel, insurance, escrow account, base plates, fuel taxes etc. The list goes on and on.
