I hired United Van Lines of Texas to move me from Arkansas to Wisconsin. I resided in Wisconsin already at the time of the move and had to travel 800 miles back to Arkansas to claim my property from a divorce settlement.
When I got there the moving company informed me they do not do inventories and I had to just trust them. I had no choice being I just travled 800 miles to move my things.
The moving company put things on my truck which my ex told them to put on the truck while I was inside getting things packed. Things loaded on the truck were things such as boxes of rocks which were very heavy and I was charged for.
Things I did not approve being on the load. I was also charged $500.00 extra because all the packing wasn't done when the movers arrived which when I hired them I was told if I wasn't done packing it wasn't a big deal being my situtation was understood I could not be done packing because I wasn't there until the same day the movers were there.
The destroyed my brand new refrigerator completely. I had sears come out and look at it and they said it was because of the handling during the move which I did not witness it being unloaded, only loaded which was 3 guys loading it and there was no damage to it as of that time.
I have sears report to prove this claim. The moving company damaged a new kitchen set. It looks like it was dragged across the ground and the finish is all scraped off on one side of it. I have a large mirror that the frame is broken.
I had to buy new bed rails to set up my bed when I got my things out of the storage locker because they were not put in my locker along with many of my boxes of dishes, etc. That I'm still finding missing.
These people need to be put out of business asap so no one else has to go through this. I am now looking into how I can try to recoop some of the loss due to their incompetency. They have not responded to my pleas or to the better business bureau claim which I filed.
