I too have a sad story about CIT Leasing Comapany. Last month my company went out of business and I was leasing a termianal from CIT Leasing Company with less than a year left on my contract. Since my company was an LLC all the property was sold to take care of any outstanding debts. Anyway, I called CIT last month and spoke with Mark, he was the rudest person I have ever talked with in my life.
I was calling to let them know the account that the contract was with had been closed and they would not be able to use it for the lease payments anymore. Mark then proceed to tell me I could not make any kind of arrangements for the lease payments unless I was able to give him another bank checking account number. I told him there we no other checking accounts and then he wanted me to give him my personal account number. I don't think so!
I did sign a lease, but the lease terms I was told over the phone and the lease terms on the contract are totaly different! Anyway, it has been a month since I spoke with Mark and now I am getting calls (two today) from the collections department. They are the rudest people I have ever had to deal with. You can not understand them and then when you get them to repeat what they just told you really get nasty.
I explained there is NO money in the company left and I would be more than happy to return the credit card termainal to them Return Receipt Requested. He reluctely gave me an address but would not give me a person's name to put attention to.
If you need to get a credit card machine to use in your company, DO not use CIT or LSG Leasing company. What they tell you on the phone to get you to sign up is not the same as what the paperwork they send you later. I was told on the phone that the lease would be for two years at $50.00 per month. The paperwork says the lease is for 4 years at $50.00 per month.
As per the other report on this company, you can see the differences in the lease money abount. I think they just pull an amount of the air and charge your account with it.
I guess I will just have to put up with their calls until I get someone there that will listen to me. Yea, I know, good luck.
If you are dealing with this company or one of their other many companies out there, close your bank account so they can not take anymore money from you, because they will do it in a heartbeat.
The way I found this company was through Bank Card USA, the company that processed the credit cards for me, they transfered me (via phone) when I first signed with them 3 years ago.
Becareful when dealing with a credit card company that also has a leasing company they want you to use. Find your own and READ everything they send to you before you make your mind up. I will keep you updated on what happens with this company. As they say, you can't get blood out of turnip. But you can close the account they are trying to get it from.
