I just spent half an hour reading all the fraud reports about the exact same letter I received in the mail today. You know, the one saying that I won a lottery that I never even entered, and that I just needed to cash this check and send them the money to get my big winnings. I was going to call and confirm these things before I did it, but there is obviously no point now, is there?
My question is, how do we stop this from continuing? These people that are answering the phones and giving the instructions should be arrested. Not everyone has a computer to do research on, and how many people have already fallen for this? Lets face it, the check looks absolutly real. I'm very happy that I had the thought to look for this on the computer before I did anything, but there must be people out there that have just been happy about the money.
Anyway, thank you to the peole who posted for stopping me from making a huge mistake.
