I ordered an ironing board cover that cost $15.95 $5.98 shipping. The packagein which it arrived was an 9" x 12" envelope that only cost $1.59 postage. The cover was to fit an ironing board surface of 14 - 17 inches wide x 54-58 inches long and Silicone coated.
I couldn't believe my eyes. It was a skimpy flat piece of fabric with stitching around the edges that you are supposed to pull (like gathers) to fit the ironing board. I would say it was worth $2 tops. What a rip-off.
I, of course, am returning the item, but will be charged 15% restocking.
Incidentally, I found an appropriate cover at Wal-Mart which also included the pad for $6.
I do a lot of shopping on the internet and this is the first something like this has ever happened to me. Maybe I have been lucky. But, no, I don't think that is it. Most of the companies that I have dealt with are very honest and have not misrepresented their products in any way.
Thank you.
