This high-tech recruiter called me about 2 weeks ago as per my resume on an Internet job site, about a possible work contract for which I might be qualified. When I said I didn't have one skill but had a very similar one, I was told it should be close enough.
I was asked by email to provide my availability for a phone interview 2 Mondays ago, which I did, and also confirm the hourly rate I requested. Having no confirmation of the interview by Monday morning, I went out for a while, didn't find any messages from them, and I was curious what they would do. So after 3 days, I called the recruiter to inquire and I was told the client's hiring manager would make a decision by Friday and I'd hear then.
I knew I was being blown off, for whatever reason, but even more so because when I asked the recruiter to notify me by phone instead of email because I had changed my email address, I was told "of course" but I was not asked for the new address.
Now 5 days later, there continues to be no follow-up from this recruiter and I've written Inforeem off as one of the many many many recruiting companies that do a lot of talking but do little else.
