With respect to Palisades Collection acct # ATT-1ATT512422: I canceled my service (for wireless account # 261898555) with AT&T in Feb because of dissatisfaction with their poor customer service. This wireless service represented a 12 month contract beginning on 12/02 with AT&T and therefore I should not have been required to pay an early termination penalty after 12/02. I do not feel I owe anything on this account which erroneously reflects an early termination penalty.
When AT&T merged with SBC, the wireless busiess of the old AT&T company was spun off to Cingular Wireless which sold my account to Palisades Collection LLC. I believe the company is registered in OR.
No explanation was ever given to me by Palisades as to why the account was in collection or what the "bill" of $246.64 was from or why Palisades reported the "bill" as being delinquent to Equifax Credit Bureau.
