Misrepresentation. Ruined my credit, consumer fraud ripoff, incompetent

I signed up with this company to reduce the amount we owed and to reduce my montly payments which were about to overwhelm us. Bottom line is that we were to pay our montly payments to GEANA and they would contact creditors about settlements, payments, etc.

Over the course of several months, I learned that my credit report had 120 past dues against us now since were were paying this company and they had settled only 2 of 10 accounts.

At that time I decided to discontinued my association with GEANA and handle matters on my own. Both my husband and I have always valued our good credit. I contacted each company immediately and made arrangements to either pay them in full for a lesser amount or to bring us current in payment status.

By the way, I was able to settle 4 of the remaining accounts in full and 4 were brought current.
I did in a month what GEANA couldn't do in 6 months.

I also wrote each company that we were indebted to and apologized for what had taken place and explained to them my situation.

They were very familiar with schemes like GEANA runs and they were very helpful.

It will take months or years to repair our credit damage though and I do not feel like this company deserves to get more of my money for doing that.

What's more, every time I attempted to contact them, the person I needed was always on the phone and I would have to leave a message.

Not one message, multiple messages before I would ever get a response if then.

Several days after my agreement ended, I started calling to make sure my refund of overpaid fees was on its way to me. I started calling on thursday, no response. I called again on friday, no response.

On Monday, I called several times leaving several messages and finally insisted on staying on hold until I talked to the right person. 25 minutes later, I spoke with Georgiana Nickerson.

And yes, I'm well aware that being on hold that long was well planned by the folks at GEANA just for spite.

When we finally got to talk I found out that she was going to send me my refund check tomorrow which was Tuesday and it was for $147.

Wrong, I had over $1,000 on account with them that was owed to me. She was once again clueless and was going to check it out and get back to me. She had told me to call in after 10AM the next morning to find out.

I called several times the next day only to find out that she doesn't even come in until late in the evenings. I left word with Diane for her to call me at home and specifically left that number. No response.

The next morning, this is Wednesday now, I come in to work to find that she has called the wrong phone, it was one of my co-workers and she left a message on it saying that my check would go out Wednesday. That co-worker thankfully forwarded the message to me so I knew that it was on the way.

However, I had specifically left word for the check to be overnited or 2nd day aired to me because I needed the money by Friday and our agreement had been over for more than a week without any response from the.

Apparently, they were going to hold my money until I demanded that it be sent. Needless to say, in her message, she specified that the check would go out by regular mail. Again, total incompetence. She also failed to tell me what the amount of my refund was. That was the whole reason in her putting me off from Monday evening.

This company is the epitomy of incompetence and people like this should not be allowed to run a business.
