I am being charged airtime for incoming phone calls that I am not receiving. They come from an unverifiable number (476-200-0000). There are 3-10 calls per week and only during standard business hours. Most calls are 1 minute long but some are as long as 4 minutes. I have checked my *received calls* log on my cell phone and they are not there. My cell phone seldom rings (I carry it primarily for emergencies) so I would know if these calls were coming through.
My husband has even carried my phone with him during the week (he was beginning to wonder if I had a secret admirer) and he says the same thing. The phone never rings. But when we check the itemized calls on the bill, the number shows up there under the incoming calls. We cross-referenced the times to when my husband carried the phone and he agrees with me. The calls are bogus.
I really wonder if this is just another trick by the cell phone companies to run up minute charges.
Cingular says they've researched it (why don't I believe them?) and all they have to say is that these are valid calls from a blocked phone number. I can't prove otherwise and don't know what to do.
I've tried to do a reverse phone number look up but can't get any information.
