About six months ago I started receiving phone calls for Walmart at my home. At first it was only once a week or so then as time went by the calls came more frequently.
My husband and I started asking the callers what is the number listed on your receipt and it gave our home number in place of the correct store phone.
After receiving angry messages on our voice mail (which states you have reached the Williams Residence) about several items ranging from stereo speakers to toilet tissue we decided to call the store which is over 100 miles from our home and speak to a manager.
My husband made the first call about 3-4 weeks ago and the manager Marcie assured him it would be taken care of that she would contact the corporate offices and have their computers updated. Great perfect the calls stopped for about a week.
Last week after working a fourteen hour day we come home and there are four messages on our voice mail and we received 8 calls between 8 - 10pm. My husband once again called and ask for a manager and again he spoke with Marcie she assured him it would be taken care of.
This morning a little after 7am I started getting calls and have since had about 5 calls for Walmart. The last women who called was really rude when I told her she had the wrong number.
I get these calls as early as 5am and as late as 2am in the morning. These people leave nasty messages on my voice mail, argue with me that my number is the number printed on the receipt and I should fix it.
I have lived in the same place for 12 years with the same number for the past 10 years. I don't feel I should have to change my number in order to be able to get some sleep at night.
I even went as far as changing my voice mail for a while which stated (you have reached the Williams residence NOT WAL-MART) I am at the point where I don't know who to contact to get the problem resolved.
Does anyone have any advice? My husbands wants to start giving people the correct number and tell them to call Marcie!
