After receiving numerous phone pre-recorded phone calls at my place of employment I finally was able to hear the entire recorded message which left a call back phone number. The collection call was not for myself but rather for a former employee. I called back strictly to inform them that the person in question no longer worked at our agency.
When I called I requested to speak to a supervisor to take care of the situation. The lady that answered the phone told me that I did not need a supervisor I tried to explain to her that where her company was calling was a central control station that monitored 3 phones with 12 lines, plus video monitors and we did not have time for pre-recorded collection calls. She told me to not get my panties in a wad and hung up on me.
I called the number back and unfortunately she answered the phone again. I requested to speak to a supervisor again. She demanded to know why. I told her that I had just gotten off the phone with someone from that company who had been extremely rude and I would like to speak to a supervisor. She asked me what the person had said or done. I said I think you know what was said since it was you that I spoke with, she giggled and said let me transfer you to a supervisor. At that point she transferred me to someone named Raymond who pretended to be her supervisor.
Raymond demanded to know my account number. I explained that I did not have an account with them and that I really wanted to speak with a supervisor to report the rude behavior I had experienced on my previous call. He then demanded to know my social security number which I refused to give. I explained that with all the identity theft going on that I was not about to give him my social security number. He kept demanding my social security number and or my name and refused to transfer me to a supervisor before he also hung up on me.
I waited about a half hour and called again from a different phone and got Raymond again. He did not recognize my voice but kept refusing to transfer me to a supervisor. When I finally was able to reach a supervisor he turned out to be just as rude as his employees.
The supervisor proceeded to explain to me that in their line of work-collections-they did not hire nice people. He purposely hires rude, and obnoxious people and he was sorry if I got caught in the crossfire when I tried to explain further he cut me off explaining that he was ready to go home and enjoy his holiday weekend and that he and his rude employees would continue doing business as they were because they were successful in collecting with that approach.
I personally will not do business with any company that uses this company and will continue researching who does business with them to ensure that I will not be giving them any business.
Before my previous job in law enforcement and corrections I had been a very successful sales person, with customer service as well as collection duties and I know that you do not need to be rude to people in order to achieve the desired results.
