Ripoff not keen on refunding defective merchandise

I bought a couple of jackets from Wilsons Leather Online during thier Febuary clearance. One is a parka, the other a short trench. I don't get out very much to due post-polio disorder, so I didn't have much occasion to wear either. Since the weather has been so nasty, when I did go out I wore the parka. The first time I wore the trench, the inside button popped off. I would understand if I was a hippy or heavyset woman, but I'm very slim. I sent them an email saying I wanted to return the item. They sent on back a reply saying I had to take it to the nearest store. Well, for one thing I have polio and it's hard to get around. Secondly, why should I drive 30 minutes south of me when my postman comes to my front door? So, I figured I'd live with the inside button missing. Second time I wore it, the bottom outside button popped off. I sent them another email, explaining that now it's really a problem and it's very inconvenient to take it to a store. I got an email back saying, sorry, but you have to take it to the store. Thier phone # is buried at the end of thier terms of service. I finally found it and called and guess what?"Nick C."[the supervisor] says I have to take it to a store, and now it's been 6 weeks since I got the item. Even though I emailed them within 2 weeks of reciept, they're saying it's past 30 days, bla bla bla. I've worn it for a short walk to the park exactly twice, and now I have to shlep a 6 week old jacket to another county 30 minutes away. And they could care less about any inconvenience it is to me. I also noticed the jacket had gone to clearance with another $40 reduced, which leads me to believe that I'm not the only person who's had this problem. And yet they expect me to keep a jacket I paid $160 for that lost it's button and left a big hole right in front of the jacket where the button used to be, within 2 wearings. I've been very clear that taking it to a store is not within realm of possibility for me. The guy had the nerve to ask me if "a neighbor could do it for me". That guy has some nerve.

Don't buy online from Wilsons leather, unless you plan on going to the store of there's a problem. And there very well may be. It's been a couple of years since I bought from Wilsons and the quality has definately gone downhill. I'm seeing items at half the price that are just as good elsewhere on the net, so take your money somewhere they care about customer service. Be assured you won't get it at Wilsons.
