Mr Jesus Acosta ripoff, illegal business practices, illegal aliens, Breach of Contract

Mr Jesus Acosta of MURI-ACO Tree and Lawn Service was hired to do landscaping on my home. I should have known something was wrong when he told me it would take 2 weeks to complete the project. Never the less, my wife and I paid him $3,000 of the total $3,250 agreed upon to complete the project.

Mr Acosta was supposed to remove the grass from the front and backyard, trees and bushes from the front yard and remove the rocks and plastic sheeting from the previous landscaping. After this was done he was supposed to put in new grass as well as new rocks around the house and plant three cypress trees in the back yard.

He removed the trees bushes, rocks and grass from the front of the house and left the unearthed grass in a huge mound in front of our home which protuded out into the middle of the street.

It took 3 days and for me to call him to have him remove the grass from the street, meanwhile no additional work was done on the yard.

Mr Acosta was completely inconsistent from that point on with working in the yard. He frequently came up with excuses about the weather, broken equipment, and lack of workers as to why he could not come to the house.

He typically would do one simple task every 3 or 4 days which took no more than one hour and then he would dissappear for the day. He even had his cell phone block calls from us. His last activity was to bring in a bunch of rocks that look like he dug them up out of a ditch and try to pass them off as to the rocks we agreed upon for our landscaping and left the rocks in the front of the home protruding into the street.

One of the few times he actually had someone working in the backyard, My wife asked some workers hired by Mr. Acosta if they had papers to work in the U.S. They immediatley got scared and finally one of them said Yes, that he does but the other workers dont. She asked them how much money were they making and they said only $8.00 a day and that they had just crossed the border that morning and had no previous experience with what they were being asked to do.

This entire project was supposed to be done no later than 5 APR. The contract was signed on 15 MAR and still this project remains incomplete with rocks and garbage still in the middle of the street that he left there. Needless to say I am taking this to court.
