Several years ago, I had an account with ATTW. I didn't like the service so I closed the account. The account was paid in full. My wife and I pulled my credit report and noticed an account from Palisades Collections for ATTW. My wife asked me about it and I told her I had an account with them a few years back and that is what it was. She was confused when I told her that I paid it off so she checked the credit report again. She noticed that the account says that it was opened in October. We had a different wireless carrier at the time. Why would we need another???
Well - needless to say that got the wheels turning in both our heads. We had just bought a car that month. Then she also noticed that it was closed the very next month and sent to the collections agency. They say that I owe $209 for that ONE month!!!
I called AT&T and they said that that account was paid for and closed. Now, I have this company reporting falsely that they verified and updated the account on October. That is a bunch of $#!! I never verified anything.
I am in the United States Army with a growing family and I don't need this added stress on me or my wife. So, if anyone knows of a class action lawsuit, please contact me, my family and I are in for the fight ALL the way.
BTW, I tried calling them and was placed on a voice mail machine. If any of you want to try your luck and call, please feel free. I will be calling them constantly, and if they want to call it harrassment... Let them!!!
