Forst off, the information on consumerinfo website DOES NOT state upfront that you will have to give any sort of payment info! But, if something is claimed to be free why would anyone give credit card info? Plus no where does it state that one "HAS" to sign up for the monitoring service! But the issue here is a free credit report so why would the M service even be any issue?
I signed up for a free copy of my credit report and each time was asked for my credit card info. Which i didn't give because simply i'm not buying anything, which is the "ONLY" time anyone should give out that info! And i'm not wasting my time reading the so called fine print as one person stated it. Why should i? It's FREE!
