I bought a mattress, box spring and bed frame from JcPenney Home Store on March 3rd. The salesman, who was very nice, gave me a delivery date of March 9th (a week later) so that I would be able to have an A.M. Delivery. I work in the afternoon but said that I could be home until noon every day. A week goes by and I get a call from the delivery guys stating that they wont be in my part of town until 1-5pm (convenient, right?) They even tell me that they show on the form that it states "a. M delivery only".
I tell them that I wont be home and he says, "ok, and hangs up on me".
When I called the 800 # for JcPenney to speak to customer service they said they could reschedule me for another week from now, but still cannot guarantee an A.M. Delivery.
If i would have known this when purchasing $1300 worth of furniture from a store, I wouldn't have made the purchase. To top it off, the supervisors were very rude on the phone and I made my best effort to be really nice, as I know they must deal with rudeness all day. But alas, the woman was very rude. She could care less that i was going to cancel my order. They did not offer me any way out of it to keep my business, nothing.
Maybe we should all keep mom and pop business's alive and strictly make these big purchases from them, as they tend to want to accommdate the customer when they are spending that much in their store in hopes they will keep coming back. But then I, unfortunately, read a few horror stories about those business's too.
What happened to customer service? Why can't I find it?
