Back in February I bought a Puppy from a Mr. Kline that said he was an affiliate of Scales & tales pet shop. I saw the puppy on the internet that was a fawn colored male Chihuahua and I paid for the puppy via western union over 600 dollars. My wife and I were told that the puppy was registered. The puppys name from the shop was tiny tim on the internet. Mr. Kline wanted us to pay to ship the puppy from Daytona Beach to our house in Portsmouth Virginia. I told him that we would go ahead and pay for the puppy up front so that way he could be held for us and we would go ahead and drive down there since we were going to be in florida anyways for our vacation in homosassa Fl. No big deal.
We had spoke with Mr. Kline and he said that he would meet us at the pet shop in the evening since it was going to take us a while to get all the way across the state. My Wife and I showed up and must have waited for about an hour and a half past the initial time that we had agreed to meet.
Finally Mr. Kline and I belive his aunt or sister, one or the other showed up in their SUV and pulled it into the garage and then went inside to let us into the shop. He said that he was late because he was dropping off some puppies some where else and got caught in traffic which was believable because the Daytona 500 was going on at the time.
So we got the dog from him and filled out all of the paperwork, we got the clean bill of health from a vet, some other papers and something that I had to put my fingerprint on. Everything was there except the dogs registration papers. I asked him about where they were and he said that I would be getting them in the mail in about two weeks. Since he said that he had to send in some paperwork to AKC or wherever. O.K. No big deal my wife and I understood.
After our vacation was over we waited two weeks only to be empty handed. No problem there. We called the phone numbers that Mr. Kline gave us. He told us that he had forgot to mail them and would get to it that week. We waited for another 3-4 weeks and called again. This time we couldn't get a hold of Mr. Kline for about a week. After leaving message after message I finally got lucky when I called from another phone that we hadn't used before. Only to get pretty much the same reply as before.
I let it go on for about another month without word from him and or papers for the dog. I then went through the same predicament as before, trying to get a hold of Mr. Kline. When I finally did I was upset and tired of getting the run around about these papers and I told him that I wanted the registration papers immediatly or I want my money back for the dog. After all no one pays over 600 dollars for a dog without papers. Mr. Kline told me that he was a really busy man and had a lot of other things to do and if I kept bothering him that my papers where going to the bottom of his things to do and will eventually get lost.
I have tried contacting him off and on after that for the next two or three months without any luck. It is now a year after the final sale of the dog that I bought and I still have not recieved anything from him. I was looking up the phone number on the internet when I saw a complaint about the same store. That is when I made this report.
If Mr. Kline, the owner or affilliates of Scales & Tales gets this. I just want the papers for my dog. If not I would like to have at least half of what I paid for my dog since I have had him for a year now or the paperwork so that I can file for the registration myself since their track record of doing things isn't that great.
